Fiberglass distribution poles replace wood, steel and concrete poles in medium-voltage overhead lines. Pultruded or filament-wound from E-glass roving and UP/VE resin, they are non-conductive — linemen can work closer to live conductors without the pole itself tracking to ground — and immune to rot, insect attack and salt-spray corrosion. Their smooth, track-free surface eliminates the leakage-current flashover path that plagues wet wood poles.

Applications

Rural and urban distribution network upgrades, replacement of decaying wood poles, substations and chemical-plant feeders.

Frequently Asked Questions

How strong is a fiberglass distribution pole?

We design wall thickness and fiber content to your bending-moment requirement; the ground-line failure load is verified by static cantilever tests following the ASTM D1036 method. Actual tested values: 【to be filled: our test report】.

Are FRP poles non-conductive?

Yes — the composite shaft is insulating, which improves live-line safety and eliminates fault-energized poles.

What standards do you reference?

We build to GB/T 41491-2022 (composite poles for distribution networks) and reference the ACMA FRP Utility Pole Specification and ASTM D8019 / G154 test methods.
